Mermaid's Realm |
|
 Many are the tales of the mythological Mermaid,
a Water Spirit embodying both human and fish.
Some tell of the lure they hold over men with their enchanting voice, long flowing hair and enticing beauty, whilst others tell of benevolence and danger.
Symbolically a mirror and comb is connected to aspects of the Mermaid, who is as mysterious and powerful as her watery kingdom of the sea.

She lifted her eyes upwards and a tear softly fell down the cheek of the mermaid.
On the ship there were wedding celebrations for the prince and his bride.
As the newly married princess admired one of her wedding gifts -
a beautiful Hair Comb, the mermaid who had been transformed into an Air Spirit,
created a huge gust of wind which blew the hair comb overboard into the deep sea.
There on the bottom of the ocean, the hair comb was encrusted with shells,
pearls and crystals. A gift for her mermaid sisters to always remember her. |

Umbriel, a moon of Uranus consists mainly of ice and was discovered along with another Uranian satellite, Ariel. The moon Umbriel’s name is from the latin umbra, meaning shadow. It has the darkest surface and reflects less than half as much light as Ariel, a sister satellite. Titania, a moon of Uranus has an icy mantle and may possess a liquid ocean layer between the icy mantle and its rocky core . The moon Titania is named after the Queen of the Fairies. It is associated with the element Titanium, a strong lustrous transition metal with a silver colour.
This Baby Mermaid Gown reflects the icy mantle in her flowing sleeves, the shimmering top layer for the liquid ocean and the silver beading as the lustrous metal titanium. |
